HARRISBURG - Rep. Joe D’Orsie (R-Manchester) today announced over $1.3 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants have been approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to support infrastructure improvements, public safety projects and work-force training across the 47th District.

Local Share Account grants are funded through gaming revenues under Act 71 of 2004 and are used to support economic development, community improvement and public interest projects.

“This funding will help our district address important needs and improve local infrastructure. I’m glad to see this gaming revenue come back to work for the communities that need them,” said D’Orsie.

The approved projects include:
Conewago Township- $147,250 to purchase a Caterpillar X420 XE backhoe for Conewago Township’s public works department.
Hellam Township- $32,000 to purchase and install six in car dash cameras for Hellam Township’s police vehicles. These cameras will be used across the fleet that provides policing services to Hellam Township, Hellam Borough and Wrightsville Borough.
Manchester Township on behalf of York Area United Fire and Rescue (YAUFR)- $450,000 to replace all portable radio equipment used by York Area United Fire and Rescue (YAUFR) in Manchester, Spring Garden and Springettsbury townships.
Springettsbury Township- $129,700 to purchase a new skid steer with a mill head attachment for Springettsbury Township.
Wrightsville Borough- $171,948 to renovate the historic American Legion Post 469 in Wrightsville Borough. This will be the first major renovation in 20 years and includes upgrades to the post’s electrical, HVAC and roofing systems.
Wrightsville Borough Municipal Authority- $174,915 to replace 450 linear feet of outdated and undersized 2 inch and 4 inch waterlines with a new 6 inch line along Water Street from Willow to Front streets in Wrightsville Borough. The upgrade will provide reliable water service to the borough’s sanitary sewer treatment plant, which serves approximately 4,000 residents in Wrightsville Borough and parts of Hellam Township.
York County Economic Alliance, on behalf of the Children’s Home of York (CHY)- $131,063 to purchase three new all wheel drive vehicles for the Children’s Home of York (CHY) in Hellam Township. The upgraded vehicles will replace outdated units and improve the safety and reliability of transportation for youth in CHY’s care. CHY vehicles travel more than 500,000 miles each year to transport children to medical appointments, school, family visits and other essential activities.
York County Economic Alliance, on behalf of the Manufacturers Association of South-Central Pennsylvania- $90,350 to purchase new pneumatic and hydraulics training equipment for the Manufacturers’ Association of South-Central Pennsylvania at its Center of Excellence for Automation Training in Manchester Township. The new equipment will support hands on instruction for registered apprentices and incumbent workers seeking to upskill, allowing trainees to practice the same technologies they will encounter in the field.
